Reading

The symposium New Spiritual Song (NGL) has its 30th birthday in 2018, so it has finally grown up. "Together-For Each Other! Composing, Language, Arranging for Singing Together in Congregation & Choir" was its title, what could be more fitting than that this symposium for its 30th took place for the first time in Berlin and made these thoughts on relationship and community concrete right there.

The work for communal singing, on own or other people's pieces, the intensive exchange were in the centre, more than 50 responsible persons from the dioceses, composers, musicians as well as lyricists from all over Germany exchanged about current musical and pastoral developments. This power of togetherness, mutual consultation and further development brought forth new songs, new songs: Songlight 2018 presents seven top examples.

Nothing demands fidelity like living change. Heartfelt invitation to all of us to sing and play about God's love in our world to each other and with each other for this very reason...

Songlight 2018 is the seventh choral booklet in this series.
